Ravenous Readers : A Monthly Library Book Club for People Who Love Books (and People Who Want To)

Welcome to Ravenous Readers, our monthly library book club for anyone who enjoys good stories, lively conversation, and a relaxed approach to reading. We snack on sentences, devour dialogue, and occasionally abandon a book halfway through — no judgement.

Each month features a different reading theme, giving you the freedom to explore something new without being locked into a single title. One month might take you across the ditch with Australian authors, another into the depths of true crime, Nordic noir, or a brand-new book fresh off the shelf. Sometimes the theme is cosy, sometimes it’s dark, sometimes it’s delightfully unexpected — but it’s always an invitation, not an obligation.

This is a book club designed for real readers:

·         Read the whole book, or just part of it

·         Love it, hate it, or feel confused by it

Come to listen, talk, or simply enjoy being around other book lovers

There’s no required reading guilt, no literary snobbery, and absolutely no pressure to perform. Opinions are welcome, enthusiasm is encouraged, and curiosity is always rewarded.

🗓 When: The second Thursday of each month 1.30pm or 5.15pm
📍 Where: Ōtorohanga District Library
📚 What to bring: A book that fits the theme (and yourself)

Whether you’re a casual page-nibbler, a loyal library regular, or a full-on book binge-eater, there’s a seat waiting for you at the table.

Come hungry. Leave stuffed with stories.
New members are always welcome — no reservations required.
