ROAD CLOSURE – PAEWHENUA ROAD
In anticipation of the severe weather forecast this weekend, Paewhenua Road will be closed from Lurman Road for 1km south from 5pm on Saturday 11 April until further notice.

Paewhenua Road to close from 5pm Saturday due to forecast weather
Ōtorohanga District Council will close Paewhenua Road from Lurman Road for 1km south from 5pm on Saturday 11 April until further notice.
The decision has been made in anticipation of forecast severe weather over the weekend. Several farm dams in this area were damaged during the February storms, and with further heavy rain expected, the risk has increased significantly.
The road will remain closed until the dams have been inspected and the area has been confirmed safe.
Council is also advising that other roads around the district may be affected by fallen trees, slips and flooding over the weekend.
Residents and road users are asked to:
- respect all road closure signage
- avoid unnecessary travel where possible
- take extreme care on any essential journeys
Thank you for your cooperation.
