In December 2024, Council changed its organisational logo from the three kiwi beaks to Te Ōhanga - The Nest. The intention was to align the organisational logo with broader Council branding, and to reflect themes of connection, weaving and collective effort across the district.

Removal of two oak trees - Ōtorohanga

Two oak trees have been identified for removal due to them outgrowing their space. The root systems of the trees are causing issues with critical infrastructure - breaking and blocking sewage and stormwater pipes.

Proposed Waste Management and Minimisation Plan

Our Waste Management and Minimisation Plan (WMMP) outlines Ōtorohanga District Council’s strategy for managing waste within our district. Our last WMMP was adopted in July 2018. A recent Waste Assessment prompted the need for a new or updated WMMP to address key issues identified within the assessment.
