FILM PREMIERE | THE FADE UP
YOU’RE INVITED!
Wednesday 19 November, 6pm
Ōtorohanga College Hall
RSVP: [email protected]
A powerful new podcast-style documentary created and filmed right here in the King Country is about to hit the big screen - and everyone’s invited to celebrate the premiere!
‘The Fade Up’ - Episode 1 was made by rangatahi of Ōtorohanga College, filmed locally at CutThroat Brothers, and hosted by King Country’s own Leon Hemara.
In this first episode, Leon sits down with two well-known locals - Dan Ormsby (established artist and master carver) and Daniel Kereopa (champion surfer and environmental advocate). Together they talk straight about everything from identity, family, health, sport and art, to haircuts, fishing, life in small towns, and what success really means.
This homegrown project shines a light on creativity, connection, and the power of local storytelling - reminding us that big conversations can start in small towns.
🍴 Free entry and kai provided.
👥 Everyone welcome – bring your whānau and friends.
