PROPOSAL TO CLOSE ROADS

In accordance with the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974, notice is hereby given that the Ōtorohanga District Council, for the purpose of allowing the NZ Silver Fern Rally 2026, proposes to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder:

Ōtorohanga District – SATURDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 2026

• To close Aotearoa Road, at its intersection with Kahorekau Road and Wairehi Road between 8.30am and 1.00pm.
• To close Ranginui Road, 200m from its intersection with Waipapa Road, past McLean Road and 200m from its intersection with Scott Road SH30 between 9.20am and 1.50pm.
• To close Ngapeka Road / Tahia-Bush Road at the Waitomo DC Boundary between 12.10pm and 4.40pm.
• To Close Tauraroa Valley, 600m from its intersection with Maihiihi Road, left into Hoddle Road. Hoddle Road at its intersection with Maihiihi Road between 1.05pm and 5.35pm.

There will not be any detour in place. Access for emergency vehicles will be allowed in the event of an emergency.

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge notice of their objection and grounds thereof in writing before 4.00pm Thursday 18th June 2026 at the offices of the Ōtorohanga District Council, 17 Maniapoto Street, Ōtorohanga or email: [email protected]
