The invasive species management will take place along the banks of the Waipā River through aerial (drone) herbicide applications.
This work focuses on controlling pest plants—primarily grey and crack willow—on both the true left and true right of the river to support the long-term stability and ecological enhancement of the catchment area.
Planned Spraying Date: Monday, 20 January 2025 (weather permitting)
Location: Waipā River – Ōtorohanga township
Timing: Spraying will occur during daylight hours on any day, including weekends, but excluding public holidays.
This work is part of the Te Ara a Waiwaia Project, which aims to improve river health and biodiversity in the region.
