Ngutunui Road Repairs Complete Ahead of Schedule
We’re thrilled to announce that Ngutunui Road is now open again, well ahead of the originally planned completion date of December 18th!
The repair project, which began in October, aimed to address the failing road surface that had been under speed restrictions since June. Initially expected to take 12 weeks, the hard work and dedication of our crews ensured the project was completed ahead of schedule.
To carry out the repairs safely, the road was closed from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with a detour in place via SH39 and SH31.
While the road is now open, speed restrictions may be in place as crews complete final touches, including road painting.
This project highlights the commitment to improving our district’s infrastructure and delivering results efficiently.
Thank you again for your support as we worked to rebuild the road to a safer community.
Drive safely this summer.
