Ōtorohanga District Council has awarded its new Solid Waste Management Contract to Evolve Ventures Limited, following a competitive joint procurement process with Waitomo District Council.
The new seven-year contract will begin in July 2026, with our current provider continuing operations until that time. The contract includes:
· - Kerbside recycling collections
· - Servicing of street litter and recycling bins
· - Rural recycling centre services
· Transfer station operations
Undertaking this procurement jointly with Waitomo District Council allowed both councils to align service requirements and tender as a single opportunity. This approach delivered improved value through operational efficiencies and attracted a wider pool of high-quality tenderers - securing competitive pricing and strengthened outcomes for both districts.
Further communication will be provided to the community as we get closer to the commencement of the new contract in 2026.
