SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH
7 November 2026: MetService New Zealand has detected severe thunderstorms around Te Kuiti, Otorohanga, Waitomo and surrounding areas, moving south-southeast.
Torrential rain and hail are expected, with the potential for flash flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
The watch covers Waipā, Waitomo, Ruapehu and Ōtorohanga districts.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in place until 8PM
