TEMPORARY OTEWA ROAD/GORCE CLOSURE
Otewa Road/Gorge will be closed Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm starting 28 September 2026 for an estimated six weeks (subject to weather). The detour route is Maihiihi Road. This is for repair work following the February 2026 floods.
Our contractors Inframax are carrying out essential repair work on Otewa Road/Gorge, following the February 2026 severe floods in Ōtorohanga. Otewa Road/Gorge will be closed Monday to Friday, between 8am and 5pm starting 28 September 2026 for an estimated six weeks (subject to weather). The detour route is Maihiihi Road. We greatly appreciate the patience of our community and will complete the repair work as soon as possible.
