Ōtorohanga District Council controls approximately 65 hectares of flood protection land comprising multiple areas in and around Ōtorohanga.
Council will offer licences to cut silage on most of the areas with the remainder to be offered as grazing land. The tender process will begin in December 2025 and licences will commence on 1 July 2025.
An information session will be held at council offices at 17 Maniapoto Street, Ōtorohanga on Wednesday 20 November at 12pm prior to the start of the tender process for anyone who wishes to find out more about the licences.
