Our  fiction collection is divided into two areas – General & Westerns

Local History 

The majority of these books are kept behind the counter.  Please ask for access

Recent Releases (Ōtorohanga only)

These are housed beside the issue desk, and can be identified by the Recent Release sticker on the front cover

Large Print

Collections of non-fiction and fiction are both available in large print format at both libraries.

Māori Collection

At Otorohanga, items regarding Maori culture and history are housed together.  Look for the koro label on the spine


A fabulous and extensive collection of magazines covering a range of topics including lifestyle, fashion, gardening, cars, and more.


Otorohanga Library has the NZ Herald, Waikato Times, King Country News and the Te Awamutu Courier.  Copies of these are kept for one week.  The King Country News back copies are kept for three months

Audio/Visual Collections


Movies, TV programmes and documentaries, with a section for children.

Talking Books

A small loan from National Library is available for Print Disabled customers.  Please ask at the front counter
