Roading

Ōtorohanga District Council is responsible for the maintenance and development of the District's roads and associated assets such as:

  • kerb & channel
  • stormwater sumps (cesspits)
  • footpaths
  • streetlights
  • road signs
  • road markings
  • safety barriers & site rails
  • bridges
  • culverts
  • roadside vegetation

The 804km of road we have in our District is comprises of 526km of sealed road and 278km of unsealed road which is  managed for us through a contract with Inframax Construction

Please note that Council is not responsible for the State Highways (SH 3 & 31/39) that run through our District. If you have any concerns relating to the State Highways, please contact the New Zealand Transport Agency directly. Reporting Issues

If you have noticed a fault please call us on 07 873 4000 or Report an Issue 

A fault can include any of the following:

  • Potholes or other road failure
  • Slips or dropouts
  • Fallen trees
  • Spills or rubbish on the road
  • Blocked drains or culverts
  • Guardrail or bridge damage
  • Glass or debris on the road
  • Damaged signs
  • Broken footpath
  • Graffiti
  • Streetlights not working
