At the 20 April meeting of the Ōtorohanga District Council a resolution was made to establish a Māori Ward for the 2022 triennial election.

Aspirational is the buzz word for Ōtorohanga District Council’s Long Term Plan (LTP) 2021 – 2031. For the past 18 months both Elected Members and staff have been working hard to create a plan for the district that sees it move from a state of austerity to a state of vibrancy.

Our iconic Buzzy Bee is currently getting a much needed refurbishment from the team at the Menzshed, Ōtorohanga, ahead of the upcoming Long Term Plan 2021 – 2031 drop-in sessions.

New parking area

With the addition of a new parking area on Phillips Avenue, it will now be easier and safer to gain access to the Stopbank Pathway: Te Ara a Waiwaiā i O-rāhiri.

A section of Okupata Road has been identified for traction sealing treatment and this is currently underway by Schick Civil Construction Ltd.
