The Sport NZ Rural Travel Fund subsidises rural travel for junior teams and clubs aged between and including 5-18 years. It helps school and club sports teams who require financial assistance with transport costs so that they can participate in regular sports competitions.
This contestable fund is available to schools and clubs and has a total annual budget of $9,500 which is spread across two ‘rounds’ at six-month intervals.
For this round there is $7749.76 available.
This Fund helps make Ōtorohanga District a supportive and empowering place for our young people to grow.
APPLICATION PROCESS
You apply online. The application window for Round 2, 2023/2024 is Thursday 1st February 2024 through Thursday 29th February 2024.
Applications will be considered by Council’s Grants and Awards Committee and the deliberation meeting to assess and allocate funding will be held in the Council Chambers, 17 Maniapoto Street, on 17 April 2024. All applicants will be informed of the results the following week. Remember this is a rolling fund, if you miss this round just apply for the next one in six months time.
If you are successful – fantastic! As an agreement for receiving funds, you must fill in a Grant Accountability Form. This tells us all about your project and how it went. It’s a good idea to get it done as soon as you finish.
