Pursuant to the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, the proposed Otorohanga District Plan was approved for public notification by resolution of the Otorohanga District Council at its meeting of 14 September 2010.

Council is publicly notifying the further submissions period and information regarding this has been sent to all submitters, public notices have been placed in the local papers and access to the Public Notice can be obtained by clicking the link below.

District Plan Review
In developing the Proposed District Plan Council set out a review process. This process required the use of specialist reports to advise Council and a series of discussion documents which were released to inform and provide opportunity for stakeholders to make comment. First Schedule Process RMA
The First Schedule of the Resource Management Act sets out the process that is required to be undertaken when developing or reviewing a District Plan. The following link of the Ministry for the Environment’s website provides useful information regarding this process and community involvement.
