District Plan Review
Council acknowledged the changes to the District and the community in the time since the Operative District Plan came into effect. Accordingly, Council recognised a review of the District Plan was necessary to keep abreast of the changing operating environment and to be in tune with the District and its communities.
Review Process
Council sought to undertake a review process that provides considerable opportunity for Iwi, stakeholders and the community to be informed and engaged, both in the Review and processes. Councils Review Process provided opportunities at a number of stages for involvement, these are as follows;
1. Access to Expert Reports commissioned by Council on identified topics.
2. Access to Discussion Documents drafted for Council and an ability to make comments in regards to the content of these documents.
3. Access to Draft District Plan prior to District Plan becoming “Proposed” and notified through the First Schedule process of the RMA.
