The museum complex includes 4 local relocated historical buildings:

1896 Lockup
1914 Courthouse
1914 Police Office
1908 Anglican Church building

An ancient 13m long partially completed totara log waka was discovered (with roots still attached!) and conserved and is now is in a newly built waka house.

The Museum houses many photographs, artifacts and archives of the local community including the wheelbarrow used at the ceremony marking the beginning of the railway line through the King Country in 1885.
