PART VII - RESIDENT PARKING PERMITS


21.       GRANTING OF RESIDENT PARKING PERMITS - Council may by resolution grant a resident parking permit and prescribe such a fee as it thinks fit to cover the reasonable costs involved with granting such a permit.

22.       SPECIFICATIONS - Every permit and every resolution granted in accordance with clause 21 shall specify:

(1)               The roads, or parts thereof, where that permit shall apply; and

(2)               The hours and days of the week that that permit shall apply; and

(3)               The vehicle registration plate number for which that permit shall apply; and

(4)               The expiry date of that permit; and

(5)               Any other matter that Council considers relevant.

23.       REQUIREMENTS - No parking permit shall exempt any vehicle from any parking time restrictions in force unless:

(a)        It is affixed to the windscreen of that vehicle it applies to; and

(b)        It is applicable to the time and place that the vehicle is parked; and

(c)        It is current.

24.       RELACEMENT PERMITS - If a person issued with a permit obtains a different vehicle - that vehicle may be issued with a new permit at no extra cost provided the original permit is returned to Council.
